When she and her faithful cat Shadow find the owner’s grandson, Orrie, hidden in their canoe deep in the preserve, she sees her chance. All she must do is find his missing grandfather who was taken and hidden somewhere on the family farm to stop him from calling off the sale. With the kidnappers after Orrie and parents to dodge, Sorrel and Shadow have their hands and paws full. And with only five days before the bulldozers arrive, it will take all Sorrel and Shadow’s wild instincts to find him in time.

I spent three years living in the mountains of Colorado and while I was there, I met many fascinating animals. This series of rhyming picture books has a mystery narrator that the reader must use picture clues to figure out before the story ends.
